Solaris Offgrid announces today the change of its flagship software solution identity “Solaris PAYG Platform” to become “PaygOps”, coupled with the launch of a freemium-inspired plan called "Install-for-FREE" that aims at enhancing solar distributors' impact in emerging countries.

Thibault Lesueur, Chief Marketing Officer and Cofounder at Solaris Offgrid says: ”We are thrilled to be introducing PaygOps which incarnates the switch of focus of the “Pay-As-You-Go” (PAYG or PAYGO) industry, from being driven by an impactful payment collection method to becoming a profitable business model, paying more attention to resource productivity and process optimization. By making PaygOps available under the “Install-for-FREE” plan, we also intend to create a unique opportunity for distributors to adopt a PAYGO model.”

A state-of-the-art PAYGO software solution built “In the Field, for the Field”

Recognized as a leading reference in the off-grid solar market, PaygOps (formerly Solaris PAYG Platform) is a Web and Android Application, designed to address off-grid energy access challenges and distribution complexity. Based on an interoperable and API-centric architecture, the system allows flexibility at its utmost, thus aligning to operational needs and boosting efficiencies. As last-mile distribution presents a unique set of challenges, Solaris Offgrid designed a customer-inclusive solution inspired by a first-hand 360° experience of field operations (acquired through its subsidiary Solaris Tanzania).

PaygOps carries a strong meaning that the company plans on advocating for the coming years. i.e. If PAYGO as a payment-collection method made significant impact in the industry, the upcoming challenge to be addressed remains PAYGO distribution profitability as a scalable business model. Hence, PaygOps ambitions to embody the changeover from PAYGO as it currently stands, moving towards operational efficiency and last-mile process improvements.

An “Install-for-FREE” offer to bring solar power to all

Solaris Offgrid is thrilled to announce the release of a freemium-inspired version of PaygOps. The “Install-for-FREE” offer enables distributors to adopt Solaris Offgrid’s flagship solution, for an initial and one-time fee of $500 corresponding to a partial contribution to the onboarding and training costs required to use the App. Once onboarded, distributors will be able to install up to 1000 systems supported by PaygOps, without any additional cost. Distributors subscribing to this offer will have access to all sales, client acquisition and repayment tracking features, as well as advanced business analytics tools (such as a GOGLA-Lighting Global inspired dashboard) and will still own the data collected through the App.

This disruptive feature is unparalleled in the industry and will considerably contribute to lower the barrier of entry to entrepreneurs and distributors, ultimately allowing a greater access to energy for people in need. Through PaygOps, Solaris Offgrid supports its partners and solar distributors with a set of tools that are integrated with an ecosystem of existing applications. Doing so, PaygOps delivers value beyond cash-collection and payment monitoring, to help build strong (net) customer traction and greater relationships with investors, and consequently, support distributors in reaching unmatched scale in their operations.
